Objectives

Garapen is a professional association that intends to bring together development agencies constituted by local institutions in the Basque Country, with the following aims:

To conceptualise about local development; work on its strategic development and operational application.
To promote the exchange of information and knowledge developing collaborative projects.
To offer services to agencies on issues of common interest.
To build common criteria and positioning regarding issues within their spheres of action, before other public or private entities.

Garapen was created as an organisation-network based on reciprocal confidence and cooperation between partner agencies, with a minimised flexible structure that will remain in financial balance.

Services to agencies

The principal services we offer to agencies are the following:

Information and advice:

Information of interest to associated agencies by means of reports, bulletins, etc.

Continual training:

Tailor-made training in response to the needs of agency staff.

Forums for thought:

Forums that enable joint reflexion on challenges and the identification of new areas of intervention and new tools and methodologies.

Knowledge management:

Through the exchange of experiences and methodologies between the agencies.

Formulation and development of collaborative projects:

Based on topics of common interest.

Institutional relations:

Representation of the agencies before third parties.

Promotion and dissemination of the work of the agencies:

Through events, publications, communication in the media, etc.
